I’m just starting this blog and I'm not sure which way to go with this. For this first thread I’ll talk a bit about our Eyedeal Camouflage. After that I will give periodic reports on my hunts, to include pictures and videos when available. Come back often and check it out, respond or submit your own comments.
I hope most of you have read our science section that tells why and how we designed the pattern. I just want to elaborate a bit more because I have heard from a few of you that have questions. We designed the pattern to look like a tree with a blue/gray background just like what a deer would see if they are to look up towards you in a tree stand. The pattern has been printed with a grainy, less detailed appearance when looked at up-close or arms length away, but at longer distances it actually becomes more clear and defined. It works in the opposite way other camo patterns work. The others have very defined details that when looked at from a distance gets blurry and dark, forming a blob. This blob is un-natural, easily spotted in a tree and alarming to deer.
Some have raised questions about the blueness of the background to our pattern. I know this will be a challenge for many, but you need to know that deer sees blue very well. The scientific studies have proven this. So why not match the blue/gray sky that they see when they look up at you in a tree stand. The challenge is to see things from a deer’s perspective. Don’t think how “you” see the pattern; think about how they see the pattern. Trust me on this one…I have tested this for 2 years now and have been surprised how deer react to this pattern. I can get away with much more movement and even when a deer does spot the movement, if I hold still they quickly relax and forget about me. I’m telling you all, it is amazing. I have hunted deer for over 30 years and have had numerous experiences of deer spotting movement in a tree then doing the head bobbing and foot stumping jig and finally blowing out of the area. It actually surprised me when I first started testing the pattern. Now I will purposely wave and move about to get a deer’s attention and then sit still. They quickly relax and go back to doing what they are doing without being on high alert and ready to jump at the slightest noise or movement. It really is that effective, it breaks-up that normal human shape and blob you get with other patterns on the market.
I’m not trying to give you a line of BS to buy our pattern…this is not a marketing gimmick, take our pattern and test it against other patterns for the blob effect. We’ll win that one every time! I’m just a hunter that would like to help other hunters be successful. I think our pattern will do that!
In the near future we will get more photos that compare our pattern to other patterns to show this effectiveness. Stay tuned!
